Vertical Mag — Sasha Beekman

A concept for a magazine aiming to take extreme sports back to their roots and away from the commodification of the past few decades – focusing on the original grit, and the humans who are drawn to these extremes.

The focus of this project was to create an accessible and interesting publication about extreme sports, aimed at the people who love them. The client had found previous success with an earlier magazine, but noticed that as the years went on, along came sponsorships, high-profile international events and eye-watering prize money for these extreme sports. As a result, they felt these sports were straying from their core values. This new iteration for the new generation,Vertical Mag, aims to be gritty, transcendent and authentic – remaining that way for years to come.
